Last year, over 50% of the projects completed by JBI Studios was related to eLearning multimedia in some way. This figure indicates the expertise and ability JBI Studios has in producing high quality eLearning products for clients. For Japanese eLearning localization projects, there are five key elements that JBI Studios helps eLearning producers address and apply localization to in order to create an excellent teaching product.
These are five essential parts for Japanese eLearning localization production
1. Narration Voice Over
From Japanese narration to characters, localized voice over is integral to any foreign language voice over production. JBI Studios are specialists in foreign language versioning for every kind of multimedia content, including Japanese voice over. Localization services address aspects of a production that require modification or adaptation for a target audience. Adapting or translating Japanese voice over based on an audience’s background, heritage or location is known as “language localization.” From local phrases and grammar to currencies and cultural tendencies, the localized elements of a Japanese eLearning product can determine its success with language learners.
2. Video Re-Shoot, Subtitling
As important perhaps as the voice over element of an eLearning product is the video aspect, including dubbing, subtitling, reshooting or converting to still images. Dubbing includes several different types of audio/video relationships including UN-style voice over, lip-syncing, and off-screen voice over. JBI Studios specializes in lip-syncing, which is most common in television shows and films. This is the process of replacing the original actor’s voice with the Japanese version and creating the illusion that the actor is actually speaking Japanese.
3. Screen Activity Captures
Useful eLearning programs are engaging and interactive—users can actively participate in the process of learning Japanese or other foreign languages. Screen capture software gives eLearning tools that interactive element through demonstrations, simulations, quizzes and assessments. JBI Studios uses Adobe Captivate and TechSmith Camtasia software to complete screen activity captures for Japanese eLearning localization projects.
4. Learning Management Systems (LMS)
For eLearning Management System needs, JBI Studios utilizes Flash and other XML-based programs. We ensure simple, user-friendly and complete Japanese localization for each LMS that we use.
5. eLearning Softwares
As experts in all multimedia aspects of eLearning, audio and video, JBI Studios is able to support software tools such as Flash, Adobe Presenter, Articulate Studio, and Lectore.
