In a trend repeated over and over online a snippet of life is filmed and put on youtube, and it makes the rounds in like minded circles and sometimes it blows up and is widely covered like the recently featured double rainbow video. Now a video featuring voice over industry has achieved this status as Columbus Dispatch reporter got serenaded by Ted Williams, a former radio announcer who now pan handles on the side of I-71 in Columbus, Ohio.
Carrying a sign that says “god-given gift of great voice,” Williams told the Dispatch “"I just said, well, hey. I can't be an actor, I can't be an on-air personality, but the voice just became something of a development over the years and I went to school for it. And then alcohol and drugs and a few other things became a part of my life. I've got two years clean, and I'm trying hard to get it back. And hopefully somebody from one of these television or radio stations will say, 'hey, I need a voice-over,'.
ESPN, NFL & MTV Replied We Need A Voice Over
Building up steam of 6 million youtube views and featured on major TV networks is the best way to get the word out and the job offers and interviews followed including this morning on CBS’s The Early Show. Within two days of the video Ted Williams has received a full time offer from the Cleveland Cavaliers and aggressive offers from MTV, ESPN and NFL. There is a bit of media pile on to ride the trendtastic youtube fame, but a lot of good intending people are interested in Ted Williams well being, for now he’s got a place to stay and looks a little different sporting a new hair cut.
