Lettish or Latvian Language Guide
Latviešu valoda is the official state language of Latvia, referred to as Lattish too. Closely related to other languages especially Lithuanian. Although there are three Lativian dialects based on the geogrpahic origins Livonian Latvian dialect, Latagalin Latvian dialect and Middle Latvian dialect. For everyday or Lativian translation dubbing or voice over purposes the standard Latvian voices used are understood by all.
Lativa also has a large number of non-native Latvian speakers. The immigrant and minority of population of Lativia numbers 900,000 people. Mainly from Russia, Belarus, Ukrain and Poland. Majority non-native Latvian speakers came to Latvia in the 1940s through 1990s during the USSR era.
