Japanese anime and cartoon voice over management - JBI Studios

With over 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry, JBI Studios knows how to adapt to new trends and provide the services demanded by clients and audiences. One major section of the industry that has taken a stance at the forefront of audience preference for many years now is anime, creating a strong need for anime voice overs and anime voice actors.

Anime voice talents are known for giving life and personality to different anime characters in film and television series. Many of these Japanese voice actors are associated with the most famous anime characters they play and the most widely heard anime voice overs they have performed.

Noriaki Sugiyama is one such famous anime voice actor who provides vocals for the “Naruto” anime series. Sugiyama is a seiyu who performs Sasuke Japanese voice over for one of the main characters in the “Naruto” series. “Naruto” is a television series adapted from the original manga series by Masashi Kishimoto. It is the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja seeking approval and power from his village and ninja peers. Sasuke Uchiha is one of Naruto’s teammates who is something of a genius and was created by Kishimoto to be one of Naruto’s rivals. Besides playing Sasuke for the “Naruto” series, Noriaki Sugiyama is also known for providing voice to Ishida Uryu in “Bleach” and Shiro Emiya in “Fate/Stay Night.” Yuri Lowenthal is the character Sasuke’s English voice actor.

Another famous anime voice actor is Mayumi Tanaka who is known for performing the characters Monkey D. Luffy in the original Japanese version of “One Piece” and Krillin in “Dragon Ball.” Tanaka’s Luffy Japanese voice over provides personality for the series that follows Luffy, a teenage boy who happens upon a unique ability, and his shipmates, the crew of pirates known as the Straw Hats. Luffy yearns to become the next pirate king and he searches for the “One Piece,” supposedly the greatest treasure known to man. Tanaka gives life to the battles and tests that Luffy, with his newfound elastic abilities, faces. Other anime voice actors like Urara Takano and Colleen Clinkenbeard have supplied Luffy Japanese voice over for other productions of “One Piece.”

Anime Voice Actors Give Personality And Character
To Anime Series Protagonists

Perhaps one of the most famous Japanese manga series is “Dragon Ball,” written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama. “Dragon Ball” follows the life and times of Son Goku, a descendant of the Saiyan race who are the most powerful warriors in the universe. He first appears as a monkey-tailed boy eager to practice his martial arts skills and seek the Dragon Balls, seven magical objects that give the bearer special privileges. Masako Nozawa is the Japanese voice actress who provides Goku Japanese voice over for the original Japanese “Dragon Ball” anime series. Nozawa, who made her industry debut in a film at the ago of two, played Son Goku both as a child and as an adult. Like Mayumi Tanaka, Nozawa has played many male characters throughout her anime voice over career. Many different English voice actors have provided dubbing for the character of Son Goku.

Voted one of the top 100 best-loved anime characters by Japan’s anime magazine Newtype, Ichigo Kurosaki is the protagonist of Noriaki “Tite” Kubo’s manga and anime franchise “Bleach.” The series begins when the Soul Reaper Rukia Kuchiki bestows his own powers on Ichigo, forcing him to take over the grim reaper duties for the city in which he lives. As a Soul Reaper, Ichigo protects humans from evil spirits while also helping the souls of dead people find their way into the afterlife. Masakuzu Morita has lent his Ichigo Japanese voice over skills to Tite Kubo’s most famous character since the anime series premiered in 2004. Morita, who won the “Best Rookie Actor” in the Seiyu Awards for his performance as Ichigo, also hosts the Bleach B-Station radio show.
